About Me

My sea fishing journey began when I was just seven years old. The moment I picked up a rod and felt the pull of a small rudd, I was hooked. What started as a childhood pastime quickly developed into a lifelong obsession.

At the age of 11, I joined the Weston-super-Mare Sea Angling Association, where I was fortunate to be mentored by experienced local anglers including Stuart Withyman, Pete Walker and John Lintern, to name just a few. They taught me how to refine my techniques, approach different venues and fish more competitively.

I did reasonably well on the local match circuit for a number of years, learning a huge amount along the way. As time went on, however, I realised that my real passion lay in targeting different species at new and challenging venues. As soon as I passed my driving test, I began setting personal targets and chasing PBs. That journey has taken me many miles across the UK and resulted in countless personal bests over the years.

Fishing has taken me on some unforgettable adventures, introduced me to many of the biggest names in angling and ultimately led to a rewarding career in the fishing industry. Over the years, I have had the privilege of writing for leading UK sea fishing publications including Sea Angler Magazine, Total Sea Fishing and Sea Angling News. I have also enjoyed plenty of time in front of the camera, presenting fishing shows for BT Sport and Online Fishing TV and sharing the excitement of the chase with fellow anglers across the country.

Fishing has become nothing short of an obsession, not just on the Bristol Channel, but in every spare moment I can find. I won't go into the full list of memorable catches, but one achievement that will always stand out is catching the European shore-caught ling record in Norway in 2023, from 300 metres of water. That moment was pure adrenaline and something I will never forget.

One of the biggest highlights of my career was spending 20 years with Veals Mail Order. Being part of such a trusted and respected name in the angling world was a privilege, and it is something I remain genuinely proud of.

Alongside my work with Veals, I have also had the opportunity to work as a consultant for Daiwa UK, and I currently represent Anyfish Anywhere as a brand ambassador. These roles have allowed me to work alongside some fantastic people while continually developing my knowledge and understanding of the sport I love.

What excites me most these days is the opportunity to share that passion directly with other anglers. Since 2016, I have been offering guided shore fishing trips along the stunning Bristol Channel, one of the UK's premier sea angling hotspots. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned angler looking to sharpen your skills, I want to help you get the most from your time on the water.

Do I know everything? No. Nobody does, and we are all continuing to learn with every cast. For me, that is a huge part of what makes angling so addictive. There is always another species to target, another venue to explore, another technique to learn and another challenge waiting with the next tide.
